The Avitar.net Environmently Freindly API is a robust, extendable, and stable cross browser DHTML API for web developers.

First It checks for function exsitance rather than sniffing for a browser. For the DOM API's routines it is typically designed to try and look for standards compliant built in routines before proceeding. Then it trys to follow a flow of the most common functions to accomplish the API's task.

The AEF API is extreemly stable and well documnented. Error checking will usually break processing or return an error code (rather than a value) to keep all bugs hidden from users.

The API is robust and compacted for maximum effectiveness at the smallest size possible. Several similair functions that DHTML API's use have redundant functions. This API has Co-dependent functions that takes less overhead to run in few lines of code.

It will simply not interfere with other DHTML Code in any way because all the funtions and the extreemly few global identifiers have a special reserved prefix.

Object Oriented Implementation is set in place where a single function is actually a compelation of functions.

Concepts were researched and planned for 1 year before it was coded tested and released. This gives you an ultra stable API that will alwalys retain the same core functions because they were done right the first time!
